I have this tendency to get into arguments with people when talking about homosexuality. Being gay myself I tend to take things very personal when people I don't know begin talking about how "evil", "un pure" and "sick" we are. Everyone tend to think that all gay people do, is have sex and that being gay has nothing to do with love. The world is a harsh place, where hatred for people who have a different sexuality or race is commonplace.

I've been called a "fag", "faggot", "cancer", "AIDS carrier" and lots of other nasty things, and why? Just because I happen to fall in love with guys and not girls. It's not like I chose to be gay, it's just the way I am. I was born this way so to say. Most "haters" argue with how "unnatural" it is, and that God didn't mean for humans to be gay, "God created Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve". Yes, but he also cast us out of eden because of one apple. I'm going to stop talking about God here, because God has in fact nothing to do with it. He gave human beings the capacity to deal with how they want to live their lives themselves, without him interfering.

It's not easy being homosexual - just as it's not easy being black, asian, bisexual, or anything else which is classified as "different" for that matter. In general, being human is hard enough. Race and sexual preference can be looked at as variables that life is giving you. Some are attributes that help you along, others are not. All in all we are all equal and should be treated as equals.

There are a lot of scientific evidence that prove time and time again that being homosexual and bisexual is just as natural as being heterosexual, the only difference between the three are chemicals in the brain. A good friend of mine once told me something that really stuck.

"It's not the gay people who do anything wrong, it's in fact the people who hate them. The problem is not them, but the problem is in yourself."

I agree to this, the reason for it is simple. Gay or Bi people didn't chose to be what they are, they - just like everyone else - are only trying to live their lives the best they can. If only everyone could open there minds to others, and show love instead of hate, I think the world would be a better place. I hope that everyone some day can be looked at as equals, and that we can put all the hatred behind us and move forward. Hatred only brings pain.
